Steve Nivin is associate professor of economics at St. Mary’s University. He also serves as director and chief economist of the SABÉR Institute and has an active economic consulting practice. Additionally, he is an adjunct professor at the Southwest School of Art where he teaches economics. His academic research and consulting activities focus on regional economic development and forecasting. Before going to his current position, Dr. Nivin served as chief economist for the City of San Antonio and also held economic analysis positions at USAA and Blue Cross Blue Shield of Texas.
