What’s your financial health score?
Learn where you stand financially and how to reach your goals
Many times, we might know what we need to be financially healthy. Things like, create a spending plan and stick to it. Save for retirement. Try not to carry high interest credit card debt long-term.
The hard part is that it is just that. Hard.
There are so many tools and programs available to help us manage our money. However, there are not many clear answers on where to start or how to begin. With so much advice out there, it can feel overwhelming to figure out what actually applies to you. A lot of times, we just need someone to walk us through how to use these tools and use them in a way that fits our unique lifestyle and needs.
What is a financial health score?
Before we can accomplish anything in life, it’s important to know where we’re starting from. In the case of money, it’s your financial health score. It’s like checking for ingredients before you start cooking. Knowing what is in the pantry ensures you have what you need to successfully make your meal.
Credit Human’s Financial Health Quiz provides a score to reflect where you are financially and provides actionable steps to successfully reach your financial health goals based on your results, and you can start the quiz at the bottom of this article. The quiz analyzes your income vs spending, how confident you feel about saving and being prepared for financial emergencies, where you stand with your credit and how you plan for the future.
Unlike narrow metrics such as credit scores, which are important but do not reflect a person’s full financial health, the financial health quiz looks at the whole picture across spending, saving, borrowing and planning. Credit Human’s primary goal is to help people live without financial stress. We believe in promoting knowledge and learning to help people become financially strong. With this strength, they can chase the opportunities that matter most to them. The financial health score is the first step on that path.
Behind the score: why we ask what we ask
The financial health quiz looks at eight different questions that cover four big areas: Spend, Save, Borrow and Plan. Each answer helps paint a picture of your overall financial health.
We chose these four areas because they reflect the most common financial stress points our members face. Whether it’s juggling bills, building savings, managing debt or planning for the future, these questions help us understand your financial story, not just your numbers. The quiz is built from data and research on experiences people across the United States have with money, making it a tool that’s truly designed for you.
What happens after the quiz? A guided journey
Once you’ve taken the quiz, you’ll get a score that reflects where you are today. But that number is just the beginning. It’s a starting point to help you move forward with confidence.
We know that financial health isn’t one-size-fits-all. Everyone’s situation is different, and sometimes the next step can feel unclear. That’s why we’ve created an easy way to keep going after the quiz. When you finish, just click the button at the end of the quiz to explore recommendations based on your results. You might explore tips on building savings, managing debt, or planning for future goals.
There are additional “learn more” buttons on each card that will take you to our website to resources. These tools are designed to help you take action based on your results. If you’re not sure which recommendation to start with, that’s okay. Our Member Relationship Specialists are here to walk through it with you. Together, we’ll build a plan that fits your life and your goals. No pressure, just support.
For example, one member took the quiz and realized they needed help with saving. They clicked through to our Save page and scheduled a meeting with one of our specialists at their local Financial Health Center. Together, they created a plan that helped them build a cushion for unexpected expenses.
What your score doesn't say (but we care about anyway)
Your score is a snapshot, not the whole picture. It doesn’t capture the strength it takes to support a loved one, the creativity you use to stretch your spending plan or the courage it takes to ask for help. We see you and we’re here to support all of it. Financial health includes emotional resilience, caregiving responsibilities and community support, even if those aren’t reflected in the quiz.
At Credit Human, we believe that learning gives you power. The financial health quiz is a great way to start figuring out where you are and where you want to go with your money. We care about your financial health and want to help you make meaningful choices that last. For more tips and tools, check out our Spend, Save, Borrow and Plan pages, or visit your local Financial Health Center to talk about your score and make a plan that works for you.
