Our Commitment to Community
Credit Human was started in 1935 to help fulfill the financial needs of our members and our community. Over the decades that fundamental mission has remained true. We are still a financial cooperative in service to our members and committed to making the communities we serve sustainably stronger and improving the lives of the people in our community.
Financial Health
Our Financial Health Center teams work directly with members in our communities to help them build and maintain financial slack. They also partner with local organizations across New Orleans and San Antonio to help strengthen our communities.

Education
Credit Human Scholarship Program: Credit Human believes education is essential to building stronger communities. That's why we've partnered with Scholarship America to help members and their children, grandchildren and spouses who are currently attending an accredited two- or four-year college, university or community college. If selected as a recipient, the student will receive a $5,000 scholarship from Credit Human. Up to seven awards will be granted each year.

New Orleans Culinary & Hospitality Institute Scholarships: In New Orleans, Credit Human supports scholarships for the New Orleans Culinary & Hospitality Institute’s (NOCHI) 100-day certificate programs that help aspiring professionals get on track for well-paying jobs in the industry and long-term success.
Excel Award: For over 25 years Credit Human has partnered with KENS5 to present the Excel Award, honoring local teachers across San Antonio who make a real difference in their classrooms and the lives of their students. More than 50 teachers have been recognized so far, with more to come.
In 2025, we proudly awarded a total of $38,000 to teachers across the following San Antonio area school districts:

Local Causes
Each year our employees contribute their time and resources to support local causes they care about, and as an organization we help amplify that support by donating to local chapters of the United Way in the communities we serve.

Credit Human is committed to helping members keep their personal information safe and secure, so once again this year we'll be hosting our annual Shred Day.
